Dallas Apartment Helper ("Dallas Apartment Helper," "we," "us," or "our") provides an online service that helps users discover and compare apartment options and, where requested, connect with complimentary apartment locating / real estate agent services (the "Service"). This Privacy & Security Statement (this "Privacy Policy") describes how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information in connection with the Service. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2) Scope; Definitions
2.1) Scope

The Service is intended for users located in the United States and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 13. 4.2) Information collected automatically (Device/Usage Data)
When you visit or interact with the Service, we may automatically collect:
- Identifiers and log data: IP address, approximate geolocation derived from IP (city/state-level), device identifiers, and log files
- Usage data: pages visited, session duration, browsing actions, clickstream data, referring/exit pages, and interaction events

- use quiz responses and related User Content to help identify apartments that may fit your preferences
- tailor results and communications based on stated preferences and activity
- where you request complimentary agent/locator help, facilitate introductions and sharing to Partners (see Section 6)
5.3) Communications (service + marketing)
- respond to inquiries and support requests
- send service announcements and administrative messages (e.g., confirmations, updates)
- send marketing communications by email and/or SMS where permitted, and in accordance with your choices (see Section 8)
5.4) Analytics and improvement
- understand how users engage with the Service
- diagnose issues, debug errors, and improve performance and user experience
- evaluate feature effectiveness and develop new features
5.5) Advertising and measurement
- run, measure, and optimize advertising campaigns
- build and measure audiences for retargeting and similar ad functions (where enabled)
- conduct attribution and conversion tracking

6.2) Partners (real estate partners / apartment locating)
If you request apartment locating assistance or indicate interest in speaking with an agent/locator, we may share information with Partners, such as:
- name, email, phone number,
- quiz responses and housing preferences,
- relevant service interaction details (e.g., apartments you expressed interest in).
Important: Partners operate independently and may process information under their own privacy practices. We encourage you to review Partner policies when available.
6.3) Advertising partners and platforms
We may share limited information (often via pixels/cookies or hashed identifiers, depending on configuration) with advertising platforms to:
- measure ad performance,
- attribute conversions,
- deliver and evaluate advertising.
6.4) Legal, compliance, and safety disclosures
We may disclose information if we believe disclosure is necessary to:
- comply with applicable law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or other legal process,

You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link included in those emails.
8.2) SMS (text messages)
If you provide your phone number, we may send SMS messages for:
- service-related communications,
- appointment coordination,
- marketing messages if you have opted in or otherwise permitted such messaging where required.
Opt-out: Reply STOP to unsubscribe from marketing texts. Reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply; message frequency may vary. Text-message consent data: We do not share SMS opt-in consent for third-party marketing; operational sharing may occur with text-message platform providers/aggregators to deliver messages. This is a common telecom compliance provision and is included in the Energy Ogre reference policy as well.
9) Data Retention
We generally retain Personal Information for 12 months from the date of collection or last meaningful interaction, unless:
- you request deletion earlier (see Section 10),
- longer retention is required or permitted by law (e.g., compliance, dispute resolution),
- retention is necessary for legitimate business purposes (e.g., security logs, fraud prevention, enforcing policies).
Operational caveats: Even after deletion, some information may persist for a limited period in backups or logs, and we may retain de-identified/aggregated data.
10) Your Choices and Privacy Requests (U.S.)
Depending on your state of residence and applicable law, you may have rights to request:

Marketing choices: You can always opt out of marketing email (unsubscribe link) and SMS (reply STOP). Service/transactional messages may still be sent when necessary.

We take commercially reasonable measures designed to protect Personal Information, which may include administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information. However, no system can be guaranteed 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information.
